Oh, gosh. I got this done with three hours to spare! I was so worried that my dino would make it nigh impossible to get this done, but it's done! Unoriginal title, I know. Heh.

I had read up a bit on Barnabas Collins, and found that when he had his new portrait done, at least in the original series, that it was only painted at night, and only by candlelight. So, I tried to mimic candlelight a bit. I also found that he is never parted from his wolf's head cane, and his ring, so I included both, and that cane is the DEVIL! Haha. The pattern down under his hand was rather difficult to get right, and straight, but I am pleased with how it turned out, despite the fact that it's a minor detail.

It's hard to find a happy halfway point for those viewing it on older (dimmer) screens, and newer (brighter) ones. It's really dark on the older one, but so light on the newer one. >_<

This has the look (and "feel") of something done by an itinerant painter from a bygone era. I can just see the artist knocking at the door of The Old House to inquire if anyone there would wish to have a portrait painted. Yes, it does remind one of a dim-lit room, made so spectacularly spooky on that old show when Mr. Evans came to paint by candle-light. I especially adore how you have his left hand wrapped around the shaft of the cane; no, Mr. Collins would not want to have to raise a bump on one's noggin, so, hurriedly finish this before the dawn... The crimsons and burnt umbers, in their darkness, are perfectly chilling. In the shadowed cast of his face and the tormented, yet thoughtful gaze, you have captured the best of two Barnabases (Barnabi?). Well done.
